Commentary on the Neglected Tropical Diseases, ABC Radio National with A/Prof Darren Gray

Head of RSPH’s Department of Global Health A/Prof Darren Gray spoke on the ABC Radio National Breakfast (24/01/2018) about the impact and control of the Neglected Tropical Diseases, especially schistosomiasis in the Philippines. His commentary was associated with the story “Australian scientists develop new blood test to identify neglected tropical diseases” where colleague Prof Don McManus and his team at the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute in Queensland developed a new diagnostic for Schistosoma japonicum. A/Prof Gray also discussed the use of this new diagnostic and the implications for control.
