Funding received

Tehzeeb Zulfiqar was awarded Rolls Simon Scholarship to attend the obesity week at Nashville, USA. Her abstract was among the top 10 abstracts in Research in diverse group section.

Professor Lyndall Strazdins; Professor Matthew Gray; Dr Liana Leach. Addressing the hour-glass ceiling: new case for action on gender equality. (DP19). ARC Discovery Project. $405,092.

Dr Lou Farrer. Technology in mental health care in Australia. ARC DECRA Fellowship. $325, 000. (Lou works 1 day a week with Liana, and is therefore one-third ‘Society culture and health’!).

New MEMBERS, VISITORS, Appointments and STUDENTS

Tinh Doan, PhD, joined the School as a Research Fellow in late September, and is conducting quantitative analysis for the ARC Linkage Project, Working Well, Working Wisely.

Impact and engagement

Ruth Kharis was the PHAA representative for the ACT Food Regulation Reference Group 7 November 2018 meeting.

Liana Leach attended the Research Foundation meeting for the Centre for Work Health and Safety (CWHS) on the 13th of November to advise on their current round of research projects.

Cathy Banwell, with other members of the PFAS team, attended a community feedback meeting in Williamtown to present findings from the PFAS Focus Group Study.
