Good News

The DAPH Hub met for the first time on 22 February. Decisions included a name change from Biostatistics and Data Analytics to DAPH, and plans for a variety of meetings, seminars and presentation in the months to come.

Conferences, Workshops and Seminars

Alice Richardson and Petra Kuhnert (CSIRO Data61) presented a talk on “Building a local community: R-Ladies in Canberra” at the Openness and Reproducibility in Science workshop held in RSB on 25 February.

Engagement and Outreach

Alice Richardson presented a lightning (five minute) talk at the launch of R-Ladies in Canberra on 26 February. Her talk was titled “R in Field Epidemiology”. She is on the steering committee for the R-Ladies Canberra chapter, who have been meeting since August 2018 to bring this worldwide initiative to Canberra.

Alice Richardson attended a pitch night on 28 February for the ANU TechLauncher scheme, which unites computer science student teams with clients seeking IT solutions. Her project proposal is a web portal driven by machine learning algorithms to assess symptom severity in chronic fatigue syndrome.
