New study on dementia awareness

2 May 2017

Dr Sarang Kim at the Centre for Research on Ageing, Health and Wellbeing (CRAHW) has just announced a new study on community dementia awareness which is the result of her recent award from the Hazel Hawke Research Grant in Dementia Care.

The study is open to anyone in the ACT who is aged over 40 years.

"We are looking for people to take part in focus groups to understand what the general public would like to learn from people with dementia, and what people with dementia and their carers would like the general public to know about them living with dementia," said Dr Kim.

The Dementia Stigma Reduction (DESeRvE) project will result in an online program to enhance people's awareness and knowledge of dementia, and to address misbeliefs people might have about dementia.
