New grants/funding

The Mason Foundation has announced the grant of $1M to a consortium, including Brett Lidbury and Alice Richardson, for the establishment of a biobank to advance research into myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome.

Keynote and invited presentations

Alice Richardson was invited to present to the Canberra Mathematical Association conference on 17 August. Her talk was titled “Optimising learning through data collected over time”.

RSPH workshops and seminars

Ben O’Neill presented an RSPH seminar on Thursday 26 August titled “Statistics and Sample Sizes in Grant/Ethics Applications – What would a statistical reviewer like to see?”

Alice Richardson gave a talk on interrupted time series to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit researchers. An invitation was also extended to ECRs to attend.

Outreach and engagement

Alice Richardson joined a team of five students and academics to staff an RSPH stall at a Research and Internships Day organised by the Joint Colleges of Science.
