Biography

Ruth is employed as a Communications Officer on the Mayi Kuwayu Longitudinal Study of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing, joining the NCEPH unit in April 2017. She is from the Wiradjuri nation of central NSW and has recently completed a Bachelor of Communication in Public Relations from the University of Canberra (UC).

Prior to this role, Ruth worked in the Public Engagement Program Area at AIATSIS, the Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies. She has worked with AIATSIS on their Moving Image Collection, the Art and Artefact Collection, and as a Project Officer for the AIATSIS research team. She also previously worked for NATSIWA (the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Women’s Alliance).

Ruth has a publishing and editorial background and was formerly the Managing Editor of Aboriginal publishing house Magabala Books in Broome, WA. Ruth is currently undertaking an Honours degree at UC.
