Biography

Andrea’s research focuses on improving our understanding about the epidemiology of serious Salmonellainfections. Andrea will undertake research in Australia, particularly in relation to main serotypes in tropical zones and a study of Salmonella bacteraemia, along with work in south-eastern Asia and globally regarding the burden of invasive-non-typhoidal Salmonella.

Andrea completed her medical degree in the Czech Republic and has co-founded an international Foundation ‘Codaqua’, which aims at improving health through water and sanitation in Africa. Andrea is studying her PhD through the award of an Endeavour Postgraduate scholarship.
