Associate Professor Rebecca McKetin

Visiting Fellow

Biography

Associate Professor Rebecca McKetin is a Fellow at CRAHW. Her research examines the relationship between substance use and health.

Much of her research has focused on methamphetamine, for which she received a NSW/ACT Young Tall Poppy Science Award. This work included estimating the number of dependent methamphetamine users in Australia and establishing the first treatment outcomes study for the drug (the Methamphetamine Treatment Evaluation Study) and the risk of psychiatric symptoms attributable to the drug.

She has previously worked as an epidemiologist and consultant for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Southern Africa, Europe and Southeast Asia. Rebecca is the former Executive Editor and current Development Editor for 'Drug and Alcohol Review', an Assistant Editor for ‘Addiction’, and a member of the Australian Institute of Policy and Science.
