Dr Elivelton Da Silva Fonseca

Visiting Fellow


Ph.D. in Geography at the School of Sciences and Technology, Sao Paulo State University (UNESP). Have been working in Health Geography and spatial analysis of Neglected Tropical Diseases. Concluded a Post-Doctoral fellowship at Louisiana State University, in Baton Rouge LA, where worked on Geospatial Modeling for Environmental Health, specially novel technologies in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for surveillance of Neglected Tropical Diseases. Also, have worked as a visiting research scholar on the NASA at National Space Science and Techonology Center, Huntsville AL. Currently is engaged in a Visiting Fellowship at the Research School of Population Health, ANU, with financial support of FAPESP, Brazil - Grant number:2016/50446-3.  


Research interests

Learn cutting edge in modeling technologies to promote new strategies for NTD programs in Brazil. Demonstrate that NTD’s risk can be measured effectively using multiple databases and Geospatial technologies
