Professor Colin Butler

Visiting Fellow


Colin is a Professor of Public Health at the University of Canberra. His work mainly concerns future global and international health. He is editing Climate Change and Global Health (CABI, 2013) and in 1989 co-founded BODHI perhaps the West’s first Buddhist-influenced development organisation. He was a co-ordinating lead author for the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, including for the chapter on future human well-being. In 2009 Butler was named one of “100 doctors for the planet”.
