Sexual orientation poses no risk to mental health

A study led by the Centre for Research on Ageing, Health & Wellbeing (CRAHW) has challenged a common perception that homosexual and bisexual people are at risk of poor mental health and suicide.

CRAHW PhD Student wins award for dementia research

PhD student, Mitchell McMaster, has won the 2017 Phyllis Montgomerie Commonwealth Award from the Royal Commonwealth Society (ACT).  The award is for his work on a randomised controlled trial (RCT) to determine the effectiveness of a multidomain dementia risk reduction program for people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

Award for inspirational new researcher

Dr Sarang Kim has received the Hazel Hawke Research Grant in Dementia Care from the Alzheimer’s Australia Dementia Research Foundation.
