National survey on attitudes toward dementia

This study aims to evaluate the attitudes and stigma associated with dementia amongst the Australian public. An anonymous national telephone survey of adults aged 18 years and over will be conducted by an experienced survey research provider, the Social Research Centre.

1000 randomly selected people Australia-wide will be surveyed through home or mobile phones.

Results will be disseminated via peer review journals and conference presentations.

This project is funded by the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre - Early Detection and Prevention (DCRC-EDP), an initiative of the NHMRC, to improve detection, prevention, treatment, and care of individuals with dementia.
