Consultation with service providers and related organisations

Does your organisation provide services to older people with long-term mental illness?

Or does it provide services to people caring for older people with long-term mental illness?

The focus of this research is asking: Are the current models of care effective for older people with chronic mental illness and their carers?

We will be talking with older consumers and carers about their experience with health services, what services they use now or in the past for their mental health and physical health needs, what they think works and doesn’t work, what they consider are gaps and barriers and what they consider they might need in the future.

We are also talking with service providers and related organisations to explore how current policies work in practice, local protocols and processes and what service providers consider are gaps or barriers in getting their job done

Confidential interviews will be conducted during 2015. If you are interested in participating in this research details about the interviews including the types of questions that will be asked, consent, confidentiality and ethical conduct is provided in the Information sheet for service providers (PDF,266KB)
