Associate Professor Rhian Parker, Dr Laura Forrest and Ms Ginny Sargent examined the feasibility and acceptability of practice nurse management of overweight and obesity in primary care. This review of the literature examined practice nurses’ knowledge, beliefs and attitudes about overweight and obesity and their perceived role in the management of overweight and obesity. It also documented models of practice nurse management of overweight and obesity which have been implemented in primary care.
