In 2006 NSW Health funded two dedicated treatment clinics for stimulant users, known as the Stimulant Treatment Program (STP).
An evaluation of treatment outcomes for clients entering these services was undertaken from 2008 to 2010. This evaluation was undertaken as a collaboration between the STP service and researchers from ANU, the University of Newcastle, and UNSW. Findings from the full evaluation will be published through NSW Health, while outcomes for methamphetamine users receiving out-patient counselling from the service have been published in Drug & Alcohol Review.
