Sun Protection to Improve Vaccine Effectiveness (based in South Africa)

We have recently shown that sun exposure in the days around vaccination can impair the immune response to vaccination. In this study we are testing an intervention of providing sun protection equipment to mothers of children receiving the 18-month measles booster, in a rural area in South Africa. The outcome is the immune response to the vaccination, as determined by the IgG level at 4-6 weeks.
