As social scientists working in population health, we have become familiar with writing and reviewing papers and applications across disciplines and methodological approaches. In this presentation we offer practical advice and tips to quantitative researchers who are submitting grant applications that include qualitative methods. Like quantitative reviewers, qualitative reviewers expect to see indicators of competence in these areas of the proposal. While we cannot guarantee grant success sadly, we may help you navigate the treacherous shoals of unfamiliar theory, terminology methods and analysis.

Data Analysis in Population Health (DAPH) Hub brings together expertise from across the School and aims to build the capacity of researchers and students. If you would like the DAPH Hub to organise any particular event or activity, please send through your ideas to Grace Joshy via daph.rsph@anu.edu.au

The Society, Culture and Health Group applies and builds social science theory and methods to understanding the social and cultural determinants of health, and how they interact with the lived experience of health.
