Biography

Dr Anthea Katelaris is a medical doctor who holds a BMed, BA (Environmental Studies) and MD from The University of New South Wales. She trained clinically at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney, then in Darwin and East Arnhem Land. She then moved to the UK to complete a MSc Public Health (with Distinction) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, where her thesis was on estimating the vaccine effectiveness of BCG against the acquisition of TB infection. She has also completed an internship with WHO Regional Office for Europe in Vaccine Preventable Diseases and volunteered in a clinic in Timor Leste.

She is currently an Advanced Trainee in the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine and a Masters of Applied Epidemiology Scholar, for which she is based at Health Protection NSW.
