Good news

Ross Andrews, Katie Glass, Rosemary Korda, Steph Davis and Pip Binns have been successful in their tender to the Commonwealth Department of Health to provide evaluations for vaccines seeking to be added to the National Immunisation Program.

Martyn Kirk was made a fellow of Food Standards Australia New Zealand.

Danielle Ingle presented at the Salmonella Biology and Pathogenesis (Gordon Research Conference) with a poster titled "Rapid emergence of highly-resistant Salmonella enterica serovar 4,[5],12:i:- in Australia". 

Luis Furuya-Kanamori presented at the 16th Conference of the International Society of Travel Medicine with a poster titled “Acquisition Rate and the Effect of Dukoral on Multidrug Resistance Enterobacteriaceae among Australian Travellers”.

Amy Parry presented an oral presentation at the Global Health Security Conference, titled ‘Strengthening local and international epidemiology workforce during emergencies in low resource settings’.

Martyn Kirk presented on the genomic epidemiology of Campylobacter at a Symposium of the Genomics Network of Australia.

Awards

Luis was awarded an ANU Early Career Research travel grant for $3,000.

Outreach and Engagement

Danielle will be presenting at the upcoming Australian Society for Microbiology workshop in July on "Genomics in clinical and public health microbiology".
