Biography

Antoinette White is a Master of Philosophy in Applied Epidemiology (MAE) student in the 2023-2024 Cohort. Antoinette’s placement is at Institute for Urban Indigenous Health (IUIH).

Antoinette is a proud Palawa and Iningai woman who is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of her Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the promotion of First Nations’ voices in Research and the Health sector.

Her experience spans many years in Defence, Administration and Health fields. Recently she has been an integral member and Co-investigator of IUIH’s Pilot evaluation of IUIH System of Care - Version 2, Transforming access, relational care, and primary health care in an urban Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population through patient-centred medical homes: a prospective cohort study using mixed methods and the First Nations COVID-19 Pandemic Response: Harnessing the evidence from an urban First Nations health ecosystem to inform ongoing response, recovery and health system adaption.

She holds a Bachelor with Honour’s in Modern Asian Studies and a Bachelor of Exercise Movement Science.

Antoinette loves physical activity and participating in sport. Currently she is involved in Recurve Target Archery as a competitor and coach with her club, Samford Valley Target Archers. She is also a Run Leader for the Mitchelton Runners and Walkers in association with the Indigenous Marathon Fund.
