Biography

Suhasini's MPhil focus is on predictive modelling of Ross River virus in NSW, with the aim of developing a practical tool that can be used in NSW to support risk communications and policy. She currently works for the NSW Ministry of Health in a team that is responsible for arbovirus surveillance and reporting. Suhasini completed her undergraduate studies in International Political Economy at the University of California - Berkeley and her Masters in Public Health at the University of Sydney. She has worked on aged care, mental health and family and domestic violence policy and programs at the local and Commonwealth level in Australia. She also participated in the NSW Public Health training program, working on communicable disease issues including flu, tuberculosis and COVID in NSW; environmental health; and reporting of Aboriginal child health outcomes in Far West NSW.
