Biography

Andy (they/them, he/him) is a PhD Candidate at the Centre for Mental health Research under the supervision of Dr Amelia Gulliver. Andy holds a Master of Educational Psychology from the University of Melbourne, a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Psychology from the University of Canberra in Australia, and a Bachelor of Arts in Ethnology from the South-Central University for Nationalities in China. Andy has experience working with young people, schools, and international university students as a psychologist. Prior to commencing their study in Australia, Andy worked as an activist and social worker in the LGBTQIA+ and disability communities in China for 7 years. Their PhD research interest includes mental health interventions, cross-cultural psychology, and stigma reduction.
