Tianying was awarded a Master of Public Health (Adv) in 2019 at ANU with a thesis in work-study conflicts and mental health among young people. 

Her PhD research focuses on the association between work-family conflict and suicidal ideation, as well as depression/anxiety clinical diagnosis.
